James Mack is recognized in today’s beauty world from the moment he steps foot in the competitive arena. “Mack” (as he is known in the industry) has exhibited winning talents and cultivated innovative approaches to hair design. His initial exposure came by way of the Bronner Brothers International Hair Show Atlanta 1993, where he was among the top three of 100 winners in the country. In 1994, Mack became a member of the Barry Fletcher International Design Team. In 1995 and 1996, he won back-to-back Male Total Look Awards. Mack has also won the Proud Lady Male Look competition in Chicago and Washington, DC. He has placed 1st or 2nd in over 46 national competitions. Mack has provided quality professional hair care services for internationally acclaimed ministers, radio personalities, music artists and has been featured in several national print publications. Mack is still being recognized 33 years later in the beauty industry, in 2023 he received two Lifetime Achievement Awards and in 2024 the Legend Accolade Award from the Bronner Brothers International Hair Show.

Mack has taken both the barbering and beauty industry by storm and has become a trendsetter by using his wealth of knowledge and expertise to help raise the image of students and professionals. In addition to his other professional associations, Mack served as the ambassador of the Oster Clipper, has worked with Andis Clipper Company and African Pride. He has also been on judging panels for many trade shows and acts as an educational mentor for beauty and barber schools around the country.

Mack’s state-of-the-art technical approach to hair design has placed him at the pinnacle of his profession. He is a highly sought-after Barber/Stylist who has provided innovative, expert, hair care services to many well-known personalities, including Donnie McKirklin, Byron Cage, Kurt Carr, Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond and several Radio One personalities. In past years he was asked to help create a new look for R&B singer Musiq Soulchild. Mack’s professional styling has been featured in numerous publications.
